Rescue KT is an anaphylaxis training program that features the very popular Rescue KT InjectableTtraining Mannequin, which helps make auto-injector training much more memorable. Using it can powerfully add realism to training sessions (especially when practicing with needles or real auto-injectors), luring even reluctant adults into engaged hands-on learning. Yes, you can actually inject needles in the thigh!

Preparedness in anaphylactic emergencies is so crucial. However, teaching & training reluctant adults, who are caregivers of an allergic child, can be challenging. We've observed and trained hundreds of people.
To our dismay, even the most attentive and caring adults would easily forget how to use the "mysterious jabbing device" (epinephrine auto-injector) within just months of training.
This is not unusual. Just ask anyone who does a lot of auto-injector training and follows up a few months later.
So we developed Rescue KT, the training mannequin. We've used Human Factors Engineering as our guiding design philosophy. And, it works! Those who have trained on Rescue KT feel better prepared than those who have practiced injecting into an orange.
The reason why people should practice with a realistic child-sized mannequin, is the same reason why physicians and nurses practice responding to mock codes in hospitals. It is the same reason they often train in a simulated environment with mannequins. It is also why pilots practice in simulated cockpits, nuclear reactor operators practice in a simulated control room. When lives depend on it, there is no such thing as being over-prepared.
We wanted to give caregivers of allergic children the best chance of being prepared for an allergic emergency.
